The M8 is the latest and smallest lighting fixture in ARRI's highly successful M-Series of HMI lampheads. Like the rest of the M-Series, the M8 is equipped with MAX Technology, a unique, patented reflector design that unifies the advantages of a Fresnel and a PAR fixture. The combination of an open face design and the unrivalled efficiency of the MAX reflector makes the M8 exceptionally bright; in fact, the light output produced by its 800 W lamp comes close to the output from a 1,200 W Fresnel or PAR (with lens). The unit can be focused between 15° and 62° just by turning the focus knob, producing a remarkably even light field and a crisp, clear shadow. By eliminating the need for bulky, easily breakable spread lenses, the M8 will speed up workflows on set.

ARRI M18

The M18 is an 1800W ARRIMAX style lamphead, combining the Academy Scientific and Engineering. Award-winning lens-less optical technology of the ARRIMAX with the innovative True Blue design. The result is an exciting new class of HMI, as small as a 1200W PAR but with a 70 percent higher light output. The “BABYMAX” gives a remarkably even beam spread that casts crisp shadows and is adjustable from 20-60 degrees without requiring spreader lenses.

ARRI M40

Like all members of the M-Series, the M40 unifies the advantages of a PAR light and a Fresnel fixture. Due to the unique lerns-less Max Technology, the unit is open face and thus very bright, but also focussable over a range of 18-52° HPA, casting a crisp shadow. The reflector characteristics is optimised for 4000W lamps, but can also be used with 2500W lamps.

The lamphead is equipped with a CCL module (compensation for cable loss). When operated with the new ARRI EB 2.5/4 kW with CCL, full power is maintained all the way to the lamp even when very long cables are used. This means uniformly high light output independent from cable length.

ARRI M90

To close the gap between the M40/25 and the ARRIMAX 18/12, the M90 introduces a new power class of 9000 W. The unit is open-faced and very bright; it is also focusable from 16° up to 49°, producing a remarkably even light field and a crisp, clear shadow. ARRI technology partner Osram developed a new 9,000 W lamp for the M90, which is stable at 1,000 Hz and almost as small as the 6,000 W lamp that can alternatively be used. This allowed ARRI to design the M90 in a very compact housing, barely larger than the ARRISUN 60. Accompanying the M90 is a new ballast, the EB 6/9 kW, available in standard and high speed versions. Like other recent ballasts from ARRI, it features CCL (Compensation for Cable Loss) technology and the power-saving ALF (Active Line Filter). The EB 6/9 kW is DMX compatible and no bigger than ARRI's existing EB 6000 Baby ballast.

ARRI MAX 18/12

ARRIMAX - the ultimate choice for productions requiring maximum light output. Combining the variable beam spread of a Fresnel with the light output of a PAR, the ARRIMAX uses a unique reflector concept for beam control that eliminates the need for spread lenses. The 580mm (22.8”) diameter, specular, flatted reflector can be adjusted to provide continuous focus from 15° – 50° and, since the ARRIMAX does not require a set of spread lenses, shadows are sharp and easily cut. 18,000W Single Ended lamps use a sturdier GX51 lamp base for which ARRI engineers have designed a special lampholder. This new lampholder alleviates mechanical stress from the lamp pins, which now serve only as an electrical connection. The lamp clamping mechanism is self-aligning and uses a rugged, recessed lamp lock handle. To ensure that crews can easily use 12,000W lamps or versions of 18K Single Ended lamps with G38 bases, the new lampholder accepts either lamp type with no modification or adjustment required.
